South Jersey DJ to Bring The "Party" Back Home |
VOORHEES – EBE Events and Entertainment’s Matthew Ostroff has been emceeing at social events in the Cherry Hill area since he was 13 – so he knows a thing or two about what South Jersey families want when it comes to throwing parties that make a lasting impression.
“People are expecting a higher level of performance than ever before,” said the Cherry Hill native. “It’s our job to deliver that while also helping the client to determine what is right for them in terms of style and budget.”
Families will have the chance to hear EBE bands and DJs and learn about a variety of event enhancements that can make their parties memorable when EBE holds a showcase from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18th at the Mansion on Main Street, 3000 Main Street in Voorhees.
For Ostroff, it will be an opportunity to return to his roots. He started his career as a DJ in Cherry Hill and Voorhees after being inspired by Eddie Bruce, who performed at a friend’s bar mitzvah. Thinking he could do the same thing, Ostroff hooked up with Bruce and began emceeing events when he was just a teen. In fact, one of the events Ostroff performed at in his early days was the opening of the Mansion on Main Street in 1988.
His friendship and business relationship with Bruce continues today, through the Philadelphia-based entertainment company, EBE, which merged with Ostroff’s own entertainment company in 2002. EBE has grown significantly over the last five years, demonstrating through Live showcases that the search for quality entertainment doesn’t extend to New York – it starts and ends right in EBE’s Philadelphia headquarters. In reality, New Jersey and New York clients are finding the source of leading edge, hip event planning and entertainment is at EBE.
“There are a lot of advantages to working with a company like ours,” said Ostroff. “Instead of hiring separate vendors to handle planning, music, lighting, decor and entertainment enhancements, clients can make one call to EBE and we have the ability to handle it all. Our clients don’t have to worry about coordinating and bringing together four or five different vendors at their event. They can relax and be guests at their own party.”
Ostroff, who maintains strong ties to the Cherry Hill/Voorhees area, said that the area is like a “big small town” where everyone has connections to each other. Having entertained in the area for so long, Ostroff is aware that expectations for entertainment have grown over the years for events like weddings and mitzvahs.
“People are more educated today than they were in the past. They know a lot of the time what they are looking for,” he said. “When they see EBE’s depth and breadth of services, we believe they will be likely to find what they want and find it all under one roof.”
Visitors to the November showcase will have the chance to preview the EBE experience for themselves. When visitors arrive, they will be assigned to an EBE event specialist who will walk them through the entire showcase to help determine what types of entertainment might suit their event best in terms of style and budget. |
