High School Sweethearts

Posted by Pat Hart in the big apple , proposal , NYC , horse and carriage rides , high school sweethearts , engagement

serena and chris engagement

You’ve heard the story before right? You know…the one about the high school football player that falls in love with the cheerleading captain, winds up marrying her, has 2.5 kids, gets a dog named Pongo, a house with a white picket fence and they live happily ever after.  Of course you do, but I bet you didn’t think that these stories actually happened outside of movies.  After all, don’t most high school sweethearts wind up breaking up after high school anyway? Although there may be some truth to that, the story of Chris DePrince and Serena Rebecca is living proof that some fairy tales do come true…in fact, they could happen to you.

Sports Voice Overs are a Homerun!

A picture is worth a thousand words! Share your reaction to the Phillies winning the World Series!

Lidge finishes the season perfect in save chances.

It’s the end of March, and I for one am anticipating all of the warm weather and beautiful scenery of spring! For the sports fans, however, you are probably getting geared up for the Phillies as they prepare for what will hopefully be another successful season! If you are planning a mitzvah, why not tie the two together with EBE's  newest “sports voice over” enhancement! “Sports voice over” enhancements will give you the opportunity to be the color commentator during a simulated game or even call the final out of the 2008 Phillies World Series Championship!  So if you have ever wanted to express the excitement you felt over the air, now is your chance! It gets even better as each participant will receive a free DVD that night that commemorates the event along with interactive menus! So before the 2010 season starts, come prep your vocal chords for all of the excitement with one of our best enhancement options yet!

The Show Must Go On!

EBE Matt Ostroff

At EBE, one of the principles we stand by, aside from continuous music, is the guarantee that your event will happen.  Whether it is rain, sleet or this year in particular snow, the show must go on.  As we all know, this winter has not been particularly kind to our area in the weather department.  We have seen record snow fall in December, only to be topped later in February! But this does not get in the way of our company bringing you the party that you deserve.

Philadelphia Flyers and EBE Make a Great "Pair"!

Let's Go Flyers!

In the world of sports, the success of a team on the field is often determined by the blood sweat and tears put in off the field...or in this case...ice. In most cases you could catch a team in the film room, out together for dinner, or even at a motivational seminar of sorts in an effort to build team chemistry. This past Monday, however, the Philadelphia Flyers were seen bonding close together not through a film study, but for a five hour winner-take-all poker tournament!

EBE spotlight: Ben Ostroff Displays Quality and Quantity!

Posted by Pat Hart in mitzvah , EBE , dj , bruce springsteen

If you have ever heard the term, “quality not quantity” you would only have half of the story correct if it was about DJ Ben Ostroff. The 25 year pro has had plenty of gigs and wild experiences to say that he has basically seen it all. The mere fact that he has the quantity of 800 events alone since 2003 speaks to the quality of his skills. So how did Ben get to be where he is today?

Babe's Rainbow Room Bash

On Friday, February 19th, EBE along with many other participants, will be joining the fight against cancer at “Babe's Rainbow Room Bash” in a combined effort to raise money and awareness for children with cancer. This will be the 36th anniversary of the Canuso Foundation, which was formed in memory of Babe Canuso Fischer. Babe won the battle against childhood leukemia, but sadly passed away at age 40 from a long-term side effect from her treatment. This annual event has raised over two million dollars through the years to help support pediatric cancer research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

EBE playing "I SPY"?

EBE produces SPY Awards

With wedding season still a few months away, it would seem to most outsiders that event planners would have a bit of downtime during this time of the year. However this is not the case for most pros involved in EBE. For example, Elaine Igoe was recently given the responsibility of planning this year's Soccer Product of the Year (SPY) awards show at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

EBE Talent Spotlight: Matt Ostroff, DJ and MC

Posted by Pat Hart in event planning , emcee , ebe talent spotlight , dj

Recent recollectionsMatt O at work

“I did a wedding this past weekend that was very small. The bride and groom are incredibly shy, and they told me that no one would dance. We came up with all kinds of alternative ideas: I had a pianist perform for the ceremony and cocktail hour and then interspersed with me [DJing] during dinner, and we were going to use him for sing-alongs. We were going to do a trivia game about the bride and groom, and so on.

"You are going to make a speech, right?" A Few Do's and Don'ts For Giving an Impromtu Toast

Posted by Pat Hart in wedding traditions , wedding toasts , wedding planning , unforseen events , party planning , event planning , emcee , bar mitzvah toast

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I attended his best friend’s casual wedding, and — just like last year, at his brother’s family-only celebration — he was asked to give a toast. Ladies and Gentlemen, my boyfriend is a very, very kind man, but he is really terrible at speaking off-the-cuff.

Before each of these weddings, I had warned him that he would probably be expected to speak, but he felt certain that was off the hook since the events were so low-key… which he probably still believed up until he was handed the microphone.

It seems like there are a million and one blogs (actually, more than 95 million according to Google!) devoted to wedding advice and planning, many of which are written by wedding professionals.
